Dr. Mark is a polymath with respect to industrial chemistry with wide-ranging experience, commercial, strategic and technical, from commodities through specialties to advanced materials linking chemicals with aerospace, defence, automotive and life science business units with IHS Markit. Within IHS Chemical Consulting, Mark is currently global director of specialties, renewables and fine chemicals.
Mark occupies multiple roles with the chemicals consulting organization based on his strong experience in chemical process technology development, commercial and strategic aspects of the business. Mark has a key role in chemicals technology as part of his responsibility is managing IHS business interests in new technology, complex value chains such as linear alpha olefins, as well as emerging industries such as advanced materials, nanotechnology high performance plastics and fibres, bio-based chemicals and technologies on the cutting edge of the industry. Mark is based in the UK and is responsible for all single client engagements globally in the sector as well as global multiclient programs under development.
Mark has over 20 years of experience in Consulting across many sectors of the chemicals and allied industries covering commodity and specialty chemicals, etc., as well as advanced materials. Prior to joining IHS, Mark was Executive Consultant within Nexant’s Energy and Chemicals Consulting Division. (Nexant acquired Chem Systems in 2001 from IBM), based in London.
Prior to joining Chem Systems, Mark worked for BP as a technologist working across R&D, engineering and various business groups to develop and commercialize new and innovative chemical processes ranging from commodities through to fine and performance chemicals as well as advanced materials. Mark has particular experience in advanced plastics having worked on new technology developments and novel polymers.
While having responsibility for emerging chemical business in IHS Chemical, Mark brings a wealth of specialist industry expertise across many sectors including diverse disciplines as due diligence support in specialties/fine & performance chemicals through to advanced materials.
Despite his highly flexible role, Mark has focused on developing an extensive capability in the bio-based chemicals sector as well as biofuels. Part of this time was spent on long term placement with Novozymes A/S, a key development of cutting edge technology in the sector and a world-leading enzymes producer. Given Mark’s in depth experience in petrochemicals and their many value chains, he is frequently supporting many roles with lending institutions and financial organizations involved in and supporting the industry. Mark was also worked with legal organizations in advice concerning bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, through to expert witness testimony and the preparation of expert reports. Vice President, LNG
Richard F. Guerrant is currently located in Houston and has global responsibility for marketing of LNG for ExxonMobil’s projects and joint ventures. Previously, he was located in the UK and responsible for marketing of ExxonMobil’s natural gas and natural gas liquids, natural gas infrastructure and marketing joint ventures in Europe, Russia and the Caspian. He also had similar responsibilities for the U.S., Canada and South America. He has extensive experience in LNG where he was responsible for LNG market and infrastructure development for the Asia Pacific markets of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, India, China, and the Atlantic markets of the European countries and the U.S.
Guerrant joined Mobil Corporation and has held various upstream executive positions with a primary focus on natural gas marketing. With U.S. gas deregulation progressing in the mid-1980s, he participated in the team developing Mobil's natural gas strategy. Thereafter, Guerrant served as Vice President of Mobil Natural Gas with responsibilities for all of Mobil's natural gas sales, supply and purchasing, transportation, risk management and volume management in the U.S. and Canada. He was also President of Mobil LNG and Power located in Singapore and responsible for developing markets in Asia for Mobil's Qatar and Australia LNG supplies. With the merger of Exxon and Mobil, he continued to be located in Singapore with responsibility for ExxonMobil’s Asia Pacific LNG marketing and LNG infrastructure development which, in addition to the above Asia Pacific markets, also included Indonesia LNG supply responsibilities.

John Dribus is the Global Geosciences Advisor for Schlumberger Oil Field Services. He is a Reservoir Geologist with over 40 years' experience, and has worked all aspects of petroleum exploration, exploitation, and production geology. He worked five years as a uranium field geologist, and then 20 years for Mobil Oil Corporation as a petroleum geologist, including 14 years working the deepwater Gulf of Mexico and subsalt province, and managing their Gulf of Mexico Geologic Risk Analysis team.
He has worked the past 15 years for Schlumberger as Northern Gulf of Mexico Data and Consulting Services Manager, and as the Global Geologic Advisor for exploration and deep water projects. He has worked deepwater basins in Western Greenland, Newfoundland, the Northern and Southern Gulf of Mexico (including Mesozoic carbonates of onshore Mexico), Colombia, Equatorial South America from Trinidad/Tobago, Surinam, French Guiana, Ceara and Portiguar Basins in Brazil, the Brazil pre-salt play in Santos and Campos Basins, the Malvinas/Falkland Island Basins, South Africa, Angola presalt in Kwanza and Benguela Basins, Gabon clastic presalt, Ghana Jubilee turbidite play, Liberia and Sierra Leon turbidites, Mauritania/Senegal turbidites, the Black Sea, and the Red Sea.

Chris Fredd is the Unconventional Resources Technology Integration Manager for Schlumberger in the Middle East Area.
He is focused on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness through a multi-disciplinary,
reservoir-centric approach in unconventional resources. Fredd has almost 19 years of experience with Schlumberger in a wide range of reservoir environments including carbonates, tight sandstones, source rocks, and coalbed methane. He has held various positions in field operations, technology implementation, and new product development in North and South America, Russia, and the Middle East. He serves as a Reservoir Stimulation Advisor for Schlumberger and holds 24 patents and 30 publications. Fredd earned his B.S. degree from Clarkson University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan, all in Chemical Engineering.
Research Geologist, US Geologist Survey
Dr. Collett has been a research geologist in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) since 1983. Collett is the project chief of the Energy Resources Program funded gas hydrate research efforts in the USGS. He has been the chief and co-chief scientists of numerous international gas hydrate scientific and industrial drilling expeditions and programs. Collett has published more than 200 research papers along with 10 books and treatises on gas hydrates.Collett is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Geophysics at the Colorado School of Mines.

After graduating from Imperial College as a Civil Engineer, Peter Roberts joined the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors prior to joining the Offshore Industry with Brown & Root, during the early years of the North Sea's development. Peter became J.P. Kenny's first Engineering Manager in 1981. Subsequently, as Director of Project and Construction Services, he directed a series of corporate and project initiatives including managing the design of the Yacheng Pipeline system, before assuming overall responsibility for the deepwater Oman-India Pipeline Project in 1994. The design methodology now commonly used around the World for deepwater pipelines was developed on this project under Mr. Roberts.
After some years consulting in the Financial Services Industry, Peter joined INTEC Engineering (UK) Ltd as Managing Director and subsequently formed VerdErg, which develops enabling new technology for the Energy Industry.

Lars was a member of the BU Engineering Application Management team until he moved to Strategic Sourcing in 2000 with group responsibility for external compound production and Carbon Black. His Excellency Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo of Nigeria began his tenure as Secretary General of the OPECon 1 August 2016.
Over the years he also worked in several key roles at OPEC. In 1986, he was appointed to Nigeria’s delegation to OPEC, and from 1993 to 2008, served as Nigeria’s National Representative on
the Organization’s Economic Commission Board. In 2006, he was Acting OPEC Secretary General, and represented Nigeria on OPEC’s Board of Governors from 2009 to 2010.

Appointed Chief Operations Officer of RasGas in December 2004, Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi was instrumental in developing responsible management of operational risks and overall Operations, Maintenance and Engineering and Minor Capital Projects. Prior to becoming Chief Operations Officer, Al Muhannadi had assumed a newly created position of Management Services Manager.
Al Muhannadi joined RasGas in July 1994 as the Onshore Business Manager after a nine year stint with Qatar Petroleum. In October 1999, he was appointed Project Manager to oversee the construction stage of the first trains of RasGas. Al Muhannadi was instrumental in establishing a centralised Contracts Department in RasGas since he took over as Contracts Manager in 2000.

Mr. Fahad Al- Dihani is graduated in Industrial Engineering from New Mexico State University, USA in 1989. Mr. Fahad is associated with the Oil and Gas industry for last 26 years. After completing his graduation, he joined Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) in year 1990. During these years he has a rich experience in various fields connected with Performance monitoring, Refinery Operations and Support Services. He is best known for his leadership in the restoration/commissioning of refinery facilities post war. Mr. Al-Dihani was appointed as Manager Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Department of KNPC in April 2006. As Manager, HSE he has contributed immensely to the better working of the Oil sector in general and KNPC in particular. He initiated and led KNPC to obtain OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications and has been instrumental in winning many international Safety and Environmental awards for the company. As Head of HSE, he is closely involved in national level committees to formulate policy and regulations with respect to best HSE practices for the State of Kuwait. In January 2014, Mr. Al-Dihani was appointed as Manager Risk Management in KNPC. In March 2016, Mr. Al-Dihani was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of KNPC Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, the largest refinery in Kuwait with capacity of about 460 MBPD. He also has overall corporate responsibilities of coordination of Maintenance and Quality Assurance functions for the company, in addition to effective running of MAA Refinery business. Mr. Fahad Al- Dihani also serves as a board member of M/s. EQUATE Petrochemical Company effective from 17 March 2016.

Navtej Garewal is the Senior Vice President, Regional Operations Manager for India for AVEVA.
He joined AVEVA in July 2000 as a Business Analyst on P&ID and Instrumentation solutions as part of the Product Development team in the Cambridge, AVEVA UK office. He has since worked in various profiles across product development, sales and operations.
In 2012 Navtej was deployed to India from the UK as part of AVEVA’s growth strategy to lead the investment initiatives in this key region for AVEVA.
He has been instrumental in the set-up of the AVEVA R&D centre in Hyderabad which currently has 380+ employees in development, testing, solution delivery and support who all form an integral part of AVEVA’s product development activities globally. Overall, AVEVA has over 420 employees in India which is ~20% of AVEVA’s global workforce.
As much as his concentrated efforts in the technology side, Navtej likewise has a vital responsibility on the Operations and Sales functions as he is responsible for the complete AVEVA business in India.

Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki is the Founder and Chairman of FGE. His work is well-recognized worldwide for pioneering oil and gas market analysis and studies of the Asia Pacific/Middle East energy markets since the early 1980s.
Dr. Fesharaki received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Surrey in England and then completed a Visiting Fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Joined the East-West Center in 1979 and was a Senior Fellow leading energy-related research till end 2013.

Javier A Franquet accumulates 20 years of applied geomechanics and formation evaluation experience in conventional and unconventional reservoirs for the upstream Oil and Gas industry. He currently manages highly-technical and multidisciplinary geoscience teams in India, UAE, Oman and Iraq for Baker Hughes. His teams are dedicated to provide LWD and wireline formation evaluation, reservoir pressure testing, fluid sampling, borehole imaging interpretation, array production logging analysis, geomechanics consultancy, and reservoir navigation services for oil and gas development projects in the Middle East. Previously, Javier managed the Borehole Geomechanics team in Reservoir Development Services including atriaxial core laboratory located at the Houston Technology Center (HTC). He also served as a Geomechanics advisor for the unconventional resource solution team in the pressure pumping business unit, and he developed the straddle packer stress measurements services worldwide for Baker Hughes as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Geomechanics.
Javier holds two master's degrees, one in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M Universityand another in Reservoir Geosciences and Engineering from IFP School. Javier started his career as a Geomechanical Researcher at PDVSA's research and technology center in Venezuelain 1996 after he graduated as Mechanical engineer from Universidad Simon Bolivar, he joined Baker Hughes in 2004 as a Sr. Geoscientistfor the Middle East and Asia Pacific, based in Abu Dhabi.He had been involved in multi-disciplinary geomechanics projects in many regions of the world implementing diverse solutions for the petroleum industry. Javier has over 30 technical publications in SPE, SPWLA, ARMA, ISRM and, SEG; and, he holds one US patent in borehole stress measurements.

Manu is the Polyolefins (PO) Products and Analytical Science R&D Leader for the GRACE Speciality Catalyst business with R&D center and headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, USA.
Manu and his team play a key role in PO catalysis innovation by connecting catalyst and process platforms with PO product technology at a global level. His team also works closely with customers in all world regions to design advanced PO products based on newest catalyst platforms.
Prior to joining W.R. Grace, Manu worked for The Dow Chemical Chemical for over 21 years in several R&D businesses: Polystyrene, Fiber Solutions, Polyolefin Elastomers and Polypropylene Licensing & catalyst Business. Manu holds a PhD from Salford University (UK) in Polymer chemistry and is the author of over 60 publications and about 25 patents.
Technical Business Development Manager, Lloyds Register Energy
Peter Hone is Technical Business Development Manager for Lloyds Register Energy and has been in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years and has worked for Maersk Drilling, Santa Fe International and Moduspec (Now Lloyds Register).
Peter started out as a senior electrician on Land rigs in Egypt and then moving on to Jack-ups and semi-submersibles as an Electrical Superintendent.
Peter started with Moduspec in 2009 and became a senior surveyor very quickly and has gained the trust of many clients through the years. Peter became a Technical Operations specialist in an office based position in 2013 and became an important link technically between the clients and the LR Operations team and Technical Teams.
Peter has since then moved into Technical Business Development, engaging with clients and assisting them to find suitable solutions to aide efficiency and improvements in safety.

Starting as a Drilling Engineer with Marathon Oil in Aberdeen for a number of years, Clifford then spent 12-15 years supervising offshore Drilling and Completion operations in a variety of international locations, including a number of deep-water and HTHP well operations, for Marathon and latterly (Amerada) Hess before taking on more senior Drilling and Completions roles.

Joris W. Thybaut (1975, Ghent Belgium) is full professor in catalytic reaction engineering at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology at Ghent University since October 2014. He obtained his master's degree in chemical engineering in 1998 at the same university, where he continued his PhD studies on single-event microkinetic (SEMK) modeling of hydrocracking and hydrogenation. In 2003 he went to the 'Institut des Recherches sur la Catalyse' in Lyon, France, for a postdoc on high throughput experimentation, before being appointed as an assistant professor in 2005 and subsequently associate professor at Ghent University.
Today, prof. Thybaut is heading the Catalytic Reaction Engineering (CaRE) research group, comprising of about 15 junior researchers, within the Laboratory for Chemical Technology at Ghent University. Prof. Thybaut and his group actively investigate a variety of large-scale industrial reactions and more particularly, the rational design of the corresponding catalysts as well as of the reactors in which these catalysts are employed. Research projects range from bilateral contracts with industry up to government funded large scale integrated projects. His latest assignment was as Executive Director- Asset Manager of ONGC’s Mehsana Asset. Mr. Bora took over as Asset Manager, Mehsana on 1st October, 2014, which is the highest Onshore producing Asset of ONGC Ltd, where he was leading a team of about 2300 engineers and technicians to sustain production from brown fields with about 1800 operating wells, 07 drilling & 20 work over rigs, about 80 exploratory and development wells drilled per year and 38 surface installations. As Asset Manager he also oversaw Finance, Material Management, HR, CSR and coordination with statutory bodies and the Government of Gujarat. He is credited with turning around ONGC’s highest producing onshore Asset and steering it towards newer heights. Under his leadership the Mehsana Asset received the Best Onshore Award of ONGC last year.

He was also an Honorary Adjunct Professor (2012-15) in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Adelaide, where he had held a Professorship and the inaugural Reg Sprigg Chair in Petroleum Engineering in its Australian School of Petroleum (ASP) during 2002-2009.
